RESORT, TOWN OR LAKE !

In the heart of the Haut-Verdon, the Val d’Allos is an ideal concentration of the advantages of Haute-Provence where the Alps and Mediterranean climate meet, high mountain landscapes and a vegetation with a touch of the Midi : in the ski area and along the hiking trails, conviviality has a Provencal accent !

In this golden mountain resort under the Provencal sun, at the western limit of the Mercantour National Park, the decors are awe-inspiring and the natural environment intact : eagles, chamois, bouquetin, mountain sheep, and as many as 24.000 plant species with 220 which are very rare and 40 endemic ! Looking down over the Park, the lac d’Allos is the biggest natural high mountain lake in Europe.

This natural environment which is remarkable in its variety and authenticity, is marked by the course of the Verdon : an impetuous torrent upstream of Allos where it rises at 2.240 m, this blue vein of water has not only shaped the landscape but also the history and the life of its inhabitants…
