MORE ABOUT THIS VILLAGE RESORTLocated in the Massif de la Blanche, half-way between Gap and Digne-les-Bains and near the lake of Serre-Ponçon, the village resort is built in a circle around a pedestrian area which allows safe access to all the services and leisure activities.
This is the work of a mountain community which, in the 60s, decided not to die as many other villages were doing, and use the exceptional site in exceptional natural surroundings. Apart from its ski resort and its summer leisure activity base, Saint-Jean/Montclar is known for its spring water captured at 1.600 m (highest srping in France) and sold all over the world.
It is also a village resort which is alive all year round and has several labels:« Villages de Montagne », « Ski France », « Famille Plus Montagne », « Stations Vertes de Vacances », which was awarded the Trophée de l’Accueil et de la Revitalisation Rurale (trophy for welcoming tourists and redynamizing rural areas) and is the 10th French resort for a good life-style in the Figaro's 2003 prize list!

HERITAGE |
- Chapel of Notre-Dame de la Salette : on the site of the former village of Montclar which fell into ruins in XVIth century.
- Chapel of Saint-Léger : former Knight-Templars chapel, XIIIth century.
- Dormillouse Battery : built in1862 at 2.505 m, it was part of the defensive system of the Southern alps against Italy.

A SKI RESORT | A vast ski area stretching over both slopes of the Blanche valley and the Ubaye Valley, at an altitude between 1.350 and 2.500 m. 45 km and 31 runs for all levels, 15 % of area artificially snowed, 11 lifts and 4 chairlifts, boarder-cross, natural pipe, big-air, FIS runs, ski school. A family resort with the « Famille Plus » label which qualifies the welcome and the services offered to families and to children.
