Children Gîtes

Let your children play hooky

Children Gîtes are part of the Gîtes de France quality label, thus including the national charter adhesion. When they have more than 6 children, the host family is helped by one or several counselors depending on the number of children.

If more than 11 children are hosted, the rules of a holiday centre are applied.

For particular activities, specialised monitors will take care of the children.

Children have access to the whole house and the garden. Depending on the families, children will have the possibility to enjoy one or various activities of their choice (mountain-bike, hand-crafting, horse-riding…)

The owners have to have the A.F.P.S. (First Aid Attestation)and when they host more than 5 children, theB.A.F.A. (Children Counselor Diploma)

Children Gites are agregated :

• either by the DDASS (Departmental Direction of Sanitary and Social Action),
• or by the DDJS (Departmental Direction of Youth and Sports).

Origninal holidays,Children gîtes propose various activities to the kids :

• Awakening : theatre, dance, computer initiation, foreign languages…
• Hand-crafting : painting, pottery, enamelling…
• Sports : hiking, ski, kayak, horse-riding, sailing, swimming, bi-cross bikes…

Children gîtes are set up in a way to recreate a family ambiance during their holidays, completed by a sound, open air life : installed in their little dormitories, they will be free to enjoy the whole house, including the leisure room and the garden.

Low capacity gîtes are often located nearby a farm where the children will be able to discover the nature and farm animals.

Others propose one or several main activities : usually a minimal daily or weekly program, still keeping in mind and respecting and adapted rhythm for children.
